Pandemics and seasonal flu

Pandemics and season flu can affect the health of significant numbers of the population. There have been many pandemics over time with the most recent being the 2009 flu pandemic. Whilst this disease did not reach the infection levels and severity predicted it led to advice being issued to businesses in the UK designed to minimise infection rates and to ensure the continuity of essential services.

In order to maintain the protection of our workforce we are continuing to follow good hygiene practice at all times and will maintain the “catch it, bin it, kill it” campaign at all of our operational locations until further notice. We will also continue to monitor the situation and will post updates if the situation changes. We will also periodically review the contingency plans that we developed in response to the 2009 flu pandemic in order to maintain a level of preparedness.
